TwitchHub: When is Enough Enough?
Women have run out of patience and they're ready to fight against the normalization of sexual exploitation on Twitch.
With the rise of “Twitch thots” on the 13+ gaming website, Twitch, it’s no surprise some women are taking it to the extremes to garner attention, money, and OnlyFans subscriptions by walking on the fine line of Twitch’s terms of service, which has a lot of gray areas.
Twitch introduced the section of the Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches section to segregate the influx of overly sexual live streamers from the rest of the community following complaints that the streams were bleeding into the more mainstream IRL and just chatting sections on the platform.
Many women who have spoken up against Chaturbate refugees have found themselves in hot (tub) water for daring to speak out against women who are pandering to lonely boys and men, many of whom are minors.
On Friday, a popular streamer, also known as SweeetTails, had a clip go viral on Twitter with her denouncing women for using their sex appeal beyond what is appropriate on a website catered towards video games, with an age limit of 13+.
“I'm always going to speak my mind. And this is the one thing, this is, this is, This is crazy to me, this is crazy to me And I know I’m not the only one that feels that way, I know there’s a lot of women that feel that way but they’re not going to say anything because god forbid anybody says anything then we come off as being ‘sexist.’“
With the normalization and promotion of sex work among the youth, it is unsurprising that women who stand up to the exploitation and degradation of female bodies are facing backlash for their decency and their pleas for decency.
Like where are we going to draw the fucking line, guys? Where are we going to? This is a 13-plus-year-old fucking platform.
Whether you’re for or against sex work is not at issue -- the problem many critics have and are scolded for is for daring to go against the grain. Selling sex towards minors is exploitative, plain and simple. It has nothing to do with female bodily autonomy.
